The pre-kindergarten classroom supports each child to learn and develop at his/her own pace. The Pre-K classroom at Kirkland Children’s School includes different facets that allow your child to work individually and/or in groups. There is emphasis on encouraging the pursuit of interests, developing independence, creativity, self-esteem, and cooperation. Involvement in the classroom can be a fun and interactive environment.
It is important to understand your child’s interest and ability when selecting a school. Kirkland Children’s School supports a love for learning in the environment, whether the learner is focused on independent study, or growing socially in preparation for kindergarten.
Our pre-kindergarten classroom is a discovery-based environment where children learn during the dynamic activities of the day. A hands-on approach supports each child’s unique learning and allows them to explore their pace, interests, and to develop critical thinking.
Every child is different. Our classroom centers encourage both individual and group activities so that children pursue their own path and cultivate that skillset.
Learning can be a joy! Kirkland Children’s School emphasizes creating a fun and interactive atmosphere where students preparing for kindergarten will thrive. We encourage cooperation, creativity, and active participation. Through engaging activities, learning is a delightful experience for your child.
The holistic curriculum of the Pre-K program of Kirkland Children’s School originates from science, literacy, math, creative arts, problem-solving or critical thinking. Students grow in all areas, preparing them with a well-rounded education.
We encourage children to explore, think, predict and discover the world around them by questions and hands-on learning. A science-based approach helps students develop a solid foundation of understanding and curiosity.
Your child will build literacy skills through phonemic awareness, pre-reading activities, and individualized handwriting instruction. Essentially, these activities are the ground for strong reading and writing.
Through engaging activities and the promotion of critical thinking and problem-solving, students are introduced to mathematical concepts. Our approach to math learning is fun and interactive. Children develop a love for numbers.
Our program includes various art projects, musical opportunities, and cooking so that students explore creative talents, express themselves in their unique way/s.
We’ll build on the foundation that was established in our Preschool program, focusing on high-level thinking, Kindergarten school-readiness, and individualized learning.
High-level thinking is used to solve problems, think critically, and improve cognition. These skills are a key focus in our Kindergarten Prep as we prepare students for ongoing education and challenges.
